Ninfo / No Info!
In a collaboration between the Münchner Kammerspiele, kunstraum muenchen and apparent extent, a series of Munich-based musicians and artists will perform an evening of Johanna Billing's ongoing project, "You Don't Love Me Yet," on Saturday, December 6, as part of  Ninfo / No Info. In the words of curator Schorsch Kamerun, Ninfo / No Info is a series of concerts, readings, celebrations, discussions, and parties, all collectively intended as a "search engine for old and new alternatives" in aesthetic strategies and practices.

You Don't Love Me Yet (2002-2007)
Johanna Billing is an artist living and working in Stockholm Sweden. Her work, most frequently realized as installations presenting her films, has been recently shown at Kunsthalle Basel (2007), Konsthall Malmö (2008), as well as documenta 12 in Kassel (2006). "You Don't Love Me Yet" is the title of an ongoing project by Billing that began as a concert tour in multiple Scandinavian art institutes around 2002. Taking cues from Texas psychedelic rock legend Roky Erickson's original 1984 version of the song, Billing has reinterpreted the logic of longing and longevity and decentralized the ideal of a single performance or single performer, creating instead a rolling series of performances based on localized aesthetic sensibilities.

Billing recalls hearing on public radio that Sweden had the highest rate of single households in the world, and asking herself how a society of individualists would have a chance to come together. Always, in her own words, "a bit of a music geek" and fascinated by the ritualized potential inherent in performing cover versions of pop songs, Billing conceived a concert format based on one song only, to be interpreted by local artists, bands, groups and other musical formations of different scenes. Each performance is videotaped and subsequently becomes the backbone to an archival installation of an never intended to be a "neverending tour" of You Don't Love Me Yet. To date, Billing's reformatting of the song YDLMY has been performed over a hundred times in locations worldwide ranging from museums, galleries, music clubs and art fairs (Frieze, 2003).

You Don't Love Me Yet - Munich 2008

As part of the performance at the Münchner Kammerspiele, an installation of the You Don't Love Me Yet Archive with all former events on DVDs will be on display. Additionally, the 12" maxi EP version You Don't Love Me Yet, backed by "Magical World", a 2007 apparent extent release (vinyl/download, ae 004), will be on sale with additional materials at the venue. Because she is not able to make the trip to Munich herself, Johanna Billing will greet the particpants and audience by video and will be represented in Munich through artist and friend Karl Holmquist (Stockholm/Berlin).
After the performances the public is invited to stay for drink and dance with DJ Thomas Meinecke (F.S.K.) and DJ Thomas Geier (Festland/apparent extent).
